Camels & Bats

Once again work brings me back to India.  I’m here again in Pune (amongst other things) building working relationships and enjoying time with my team. I’m starting to lose count of the number of visits I’ve now made (is this the 6th or 7th ?) and sights of landmarks within the city are beginning to become familiar, though of course I’d be completely lost without the transfer from my hotel by taxi.

Working long hours through the day leaves precious little time for anything else and unfortunately photo opportunities are poor when grabbed from a taxi bumping along through dusty streets…

India is, for sure, an experience and even though I always pick up some sort of bug from the less than sanitary conditions, I’ve always enjoyed my time here.

This evening I dined as a guest at The Boat Club ; and while I sat there on the patio at dusk, huge fruit bats circled overhead and scoured the river for insects. Later, during my taxi drive back to the hotel, I passed a train of camels, walking casually along the highway making their way through the ‘melee’ of Pune’s traffic…

Strange sights Camels and bats…  not creatures this European meets on a regular basis.
