Walking in Shadows

It was 39°C and Sunny in Pune today. A nice present considering it’s only 13°C back at home….

This weeks been pretty hectic with a couple of video conferences between my team here in India, the UK, Windsor Ont. and Salt Lake. It’s been a productive and worthwhile trip. Today, at last, we rested. My guys and I took a trip out to the 13th centuary Bhulewar Temple 55km outside of Pune. I guess you could class it as a ‘team building’ experience.

The temple is pretty awe inspiring and full of intricate stone carvings that must have looked magnificent when the temple was built. All cut out by hand too, they must have taken years of dedication and craftsmanship. Unfortunately lots of the carved figures were later smashed by Mughal raiders over the subsequent centuries…

The temple was also welcome shelter from the mid-day Sun. We’d removed our footwear as a mark of respect, though the black rock was absorbing the sun’s rays and on fire with the heat of the day. I chickened out and kept my socks on. My colleagues resorted to walking in the shadows….

The journey this afternoon back to Pune was interesting too…  All in all a terrific day!
